Magnet Theatre brings South African play to London

Every Year, Every Day, I am Walking is an internationally acclaimed work of theatre that tells the story of a girl and her mother forced to flee from war in Central Africa and travel to Cape Town. Produced by Magnet Theatre, a 22-year old South African company, the performance will be staged at Oval House Theatre in London from 24 February to 13 March 2010.

Clint Eastwood directs South African rugby epic
Clint Eastwood’s new film Invictus, the true story of how Nelson Mandela and the South African rugby team came together to unite the divided country, is now released. Cinematic legend Morgan Freeman stars as Mandela and Matt Damon (The Bourne Identity and Good Will Hunting) plays the captain of the South African side.
Coumba Gawlo Seck brings African musicians together to help Haiti
Senegalese singer, Coumba Gawlo Seck is proposing to organise a huge concert in Senegal this month, the proceeds of which will go to the Haiti earthquake appeal. The musical acts are unconfirmed at the moment but may include Ivorian Alpha Blondy, Oumou Sangare of Mali and Congolese Papa Wemba. District 9 shortlisted for Oscar success
District 9 is poised for cinematic stardom after receiving four Oscar nominations for the 2010 awards. The film has been nominated for "Best Picture", " Best Film Editing", "Best Visual Effects" and "Best Writing -Adapted Screenplay". The science fiction thriller was directed by South African, Neill Blomkamp and was inspired by events that took place in District six in Capetown during the apartheid era.
