The Togolese Governmental elections that were set for the 28th of February have been delayed till the 4th of March to give the present government more time to prepare its voter’s registration process and security arrangements on the day of the vote. According to an official statement released on the 26th of February says the delay came "in the spirit of the search of national consensus and peace."

Unesco and South Africa's Rhodes University boost journalism and reportage in Africa
Unesco and South Africa's Rhodes University have joined forces to boost journalism and reportage in Africa. They are in the process of creating a new syllabus based on Unesco's model curricula, to provide top class training in various media institutions. An online discussion has been set up to attract opinions on the proposed syllabus. So far, 16 groups have joined including Ghana Institute of Journalism and Namibia University's Department of Media Studies.

Prizes will be awarded to those who do the best job in translating articles from the English Wikipedia into the Kiswahili language. This contest stems from Google's quest to have more search options available online on subjects in different languages.
