Zambia, Cameroon make it to quarter-finals
In Thursday’s Group D matches, Zambia qualified for the quarter finals by defeating Gabon with a score of 2-1 at the Benguela stadium. Zambia held on for a famous victory but had to pay a price with yellow cards for Rainford Kalaba and centre-half Kampamba Chintu, meaning the two players will miss the quarter final game against Nigeria on Monday.
Meanwhile, team Gabon celebrated at the final whistle after being told they had qualified but news soon came through that they hadn't. In another game of the same group, Cameroon made its way to the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals after a tight 2-2 draw with Tunisia in Lubango stadium.
The results at the end of the Group matches saw Cameroon through in second place behind Zambia.
