Coumba Gawlo Seck brings African musicians together to help Haiti

Senegalese singer, Coumba Gawlo Seck is proposing to organise a huge concert in Senegal this month, the proceeds of which will go to the Haiti earthquake appeal.

 

The musical acts are unconfirmed at the moment but may include Ivorian Alpha Blondy, Oumou Sangare of Mali and Congolese Papa Wemba.They are expected to be joined by a number of other African superstars. Seck has also proposed that African musicians show their support for Haiti by collaborating on a fund raising single.

A statement issued by Seck's manager said: Coumba Gawlo Seck is ''very deeply affected by the tragedy that struck the people of Haiti". Seck is not alone in her efforts. She joins a growing group of musicians from all over the world who are using their musical talents to help Haiti.

 

In both the USA and the UK, groups of world famous musicians are comingtogether to produce fundraising singles to support the Haitians as they try to recover from the devastating earthquake.
