Egyptian legend becomes Zamalek’s new coach
After an untimely sacking of Henri Michel from Zamalek, an African Football Club, Egyptian legend Hossam Hassan has taken over as its new coach
Hassan is one of Egypt’s most capable players who played for both Ahly and Zamalek during his career. He was previously the coach and general manager of Al Masry club and played for Egypt at the World Cup in 1990.
Henri Michel was fired after the Cairo giants’ suffered their fifth loss of the league over the weekend. He had taken over at Zamalek after being sacked in April by South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns after a six month spell. The defeat has left Zamalek 15 points behind their great rivals Al Ahly.
